Since we only publish one title per year, you know any Cairn Press book you pick up will be awesome. Profound-like. Life-affirming/changing. Intense. Beautiful. You know. Literature.
Our 2014 submission period is open from February 1 to March 31. If you (or a friend) has written a novel that can be considered literary, we’d like to take a gander. We’re really keen on emerging and first-time novelists, and getting their book into the world. Please visit the submission page.
If you're keen on submitting to our anthology on rejection in the world of letters, please visit the rejection page here.
Matt Pine, our 2013 author, continues to wow anyone who is lucky enough to read his first novel, City Water Light & Power. If you like beautiful prose, to swoon from paragraph to paragraph and hope it never ends, this is your novel. Check out his page and read the recent kick-ass interview with San Francisco Weekly.
Seamus Scanlon's first short story collection, As Close As You’ll Ever Be, is still blowing people’s minds with its utterly original style that is best described as literary noir. And now, it is being translated into Spanish. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to be an Irish killer who is pleasant, wry and slightly OCD, then you’ll want to pick up a copy. Check out his page and read a piece of flash fiction… we know you’ll want more.
Aaron Stewart has agreed to be our official photographer, and his work graces our webpage. His photography is, to be blunt and to the point, amazing. Everyone should check out his webpage for some jaw-dropping photography.
And currently? We’re deeply (lovingly) working our fingers to the bone for a May release of Jay Shearer’s Five Hundred Sirens. This first novel blisters off the page with the narration of Phil Palliard, a stay-at-home-dad who pushes the limits of friendship, his marriage, and his sanity, all while still being quite charming. We are quite happy to work with another award-winning author like Jay Shearer.
Finally, Cairn Press will be at the AWP in Seattle! Be sure to come by and check us out. We promise not to disappoint.
