Good books.
Each good book we read takes us further on the path of life, illuminates some small darkness, lightens the load we bear, or perhaps darkens the world and burdens us with worry. It doesn’t matter.
A good book changes us, sometimes making us into better people, sometimes shaking the foundations of our understanding. A good book makes us laugh, cry, and greedily turn the page. A good book makes us furrow our brow and gnash our teeth and want to throw the damned thing against a wall.
These things happen.
A good book to one person is not necessarily a good book to another, even if they’re longtime associates and have similar tastes. Great friendships have been lost over this.
Cairn Press was established on the basis that there are an extraordinary number of good books unread and unpublished because the mainstream publishing industry is not entirely fair. Unlike the big publishing houses, we don't care who you know or who you're related to, and we don't give a jot about a fancy pedigree. We care about good books, and our focus is to provide them an audience of readers.
That's why Cairn Press is here.
